The Mustard Seed Thrift Shop is always grateful for volunteers who are willing to share their time and talents in support of our mission. We offer a variety of roles within the shop, and there is truly a place for everyone to serve.

Store hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

✨ High school students: volunteer service at The Mustard Seed qualifies toward required volunteer hours.

Areas To Help In!

Cashier

Greet customers in a friendly manner
Collect cash payments
Count change accurately
Keep cash drawer organized
Provide receipts when needed
Answer basic customer questions
Keep checkout area clean and tidy
Thank customers for their purchase

Back Room Donation Area

Sort through all incoming donations
Separate items for the sales floor and items designated for charity
Price items according to store guidelines
Move approved items to the sales floor
Sort seasonal items:
- Place out-of-season items in labeled storage buckets
- Put in-season items on the sales floor
Keep the back room clean, organized, and clutter-free

Runner

Place store signs by the road before opening
Return signs to their designated storage area after closing
Take all VVA donation items to the VVA bin located in front of the church
Remove trash and take it to the dumpster as needed
Assist customers by helping carry purchased items to their vehicles
Help donors bring donation items into the shop when needed

Area Keeper

Keep assigned area clean, organized, and tidy
Ensure the area is neat and presentable for customers
Work with the back room team to place new items in your area
Assist customers with questions or finding items in your area
Review items that are not selling and set them aside to be moved to charity
