Dear Friends in Christ,
As I reflect on this past year or so of change, I marvel at how the community of Grace Church has steadfastly continued our mission of being called by God to be a community of faith committed to knowing Jesus and making Him known to the world. During this time, I know that there have been large changes in the top leadership of Grace Church, with our rector and then the interim leaving, not to mention our music director, whom all felt the call to move on after having shared their many gifts with us. And yet, even as things have changed and as we continue in our mission, we are being encouraged by new voices in the pulpit; we are welcoming a new way of doing music, people are taking on new roles of ministry, and our ministry to our surrounding community continues to grow. And I can't help but feel encouraged by the many ways that I see the Holy Spirit working amongst us.
So as the vestry looks to plan ahead for next year, I would ask you to consider how you might be called in your ministry at Grace Church. Certainly, filling out the enclosed pledge card is helpful to the vestry to enable them to lay out a plan for next year. But more importantly, I ask you to prayerfully consider how you might be God's hands and voice in your family, in Grace Church, and in our community. Is there a need that you see? Do you have a gift that you would like to offer? What is a longing that is deep within you? Offer these to Grace as well, and let's see what God can do with them.
I request that you return the enclosed pledge form by November 29, 2026, either by placing it in the offering plate or turning it in to the church office. You may also pledge online at GraceElkridge.org if you would prefer. Also, a reminder that beginning with this tax year up to $1000 for an individual or $2000 for a couple will be deductible on your 2026 income tax return even if you don't itemize. Where is God in our community? We are His hands and voice. Let us continue and grow in our mission.
